The immediate question I have about outsourcing and law firms is "Why?"

I mean, everything law firms do is billed out to a Client. And, I doubt that the companies that hire high priced connected law firms think about how much it is going to cost them.

The purpose of hiring a law firm is to buy that law firm's connections with some judge or judges or to buy that law firm's "high profile" so that a judge would think twice about fahking around with them.

If law firms actually cared at all about cost, most of the idiots working for law firms wouldn't have jobs. And law firms have the dumbest and ugliest workers in New York City (second only to insurance companies and non-profit orgs).

Answer me this. Exactly why the fahk does a law firm need to own a fahking IT department? First, anybody technical who actually knows anything technical would not be wasting his time working at a fahking law firm with fahking clerical idiots. And second, why would a law firm hire IT ahole employees with no technical degrees when they can have IBM in charge of all things IT?

The only things I can come up with that would cause a law firm to outsource a function is:

( a ) healthcare and retirement costs. These costs, as far as I can see, are not immediately billable to a client, and/or these costs have a high profile to partners in a law firm (they probably view this money as money that should be going to them).

( b ) discrimination lawsuits from White Females. Anyone who has ever worked at law firms knows that there are a lot of tired ass beauches at law firms, a lot more beauches than at investment banks. And, White Females are far more likely to win discrimination lawsuits than racial minorities.

( c ) public relations move. Every law firm that we know of in the city that has outsourced its word processing center did so because it wanted to fire the idiots working in its center (not because it wanted to save money). If you are a law firm and you know anything about employment law, you HAVE to know that the safest way to get rid of a Word Processing Center full of ugly dumb fahks who are a corporate embrassment is to outsource their ugly stupid asses. Pitney Bowes has corned the market on butt ugly reject losers that were unloved and unwanted by their employers.

Personally, I don't see a lot of law firms outsourcing secretarial and clerical to India and China, IT maybe but not clerical. I mean how would the partners manage to have sex with women in India and China (assuming you could find a partner in a law firm who is actually into women)?

Law Firm Outsourcing Is Aim of New Joint Venture
NY Lawyer reports on a joint venture between Hildebrandt and Office Tiger to market outsourcing to law firms in New York City.

OfficeTiger, which has about 1,600 full-time staff, mostly in Chennai, India, has already signed up some major firms, including London's Allen & Overy and New York's Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy.
