CoStar has its version of the report on Citigroup moving 1,600 workers from Lower Manhattan to NJ. The story also says that while Goldman Sachs is building a new headquarters in Battery Park, the firm will be eliminating almost as much space and it will gain.

Even the recent good news hasn't been so good for Lower Manhattan. Goldman Sachs' recent decision to build its new headquarters near Battery City Park was offset by the fact that the investment bank plans to vacate nearly as much office space as it will occupy, representing little if any reduction in the amount of available space in the market.
