NY Lawyer is reporting that not all outsourcing by law firms is going off shore.

The article by NY Lawyer reports on a contract a "virutal assistant" firm in North Dakota has with a law firm.

Every time I read sheat about law firms outsourcing stuff I just have to wonder, "Where are these law firms?"

The big law firms that I've temped at in New York City don't give a sheat about cost. And the small law firms I've temped at are too stupid to even consider outsourcing.

I was at one major law firm once, and this law firm paid about 20 word processors to sit in a room doing nothing for 12 hours. For the twelve hour shift I was on at this law firm in its "Graphics" department, not one job came in for anyone.

If law firms actually gave a sheat about cost and quality of work, most of them would fire the idiots in their IT departments. I swear, the engineering departments of major colleges in America would all puke if they could see what is passing for technical at major law firms.

with all of the technical people with degrees looking for work, how exactly does a major law firm decide to hire a fahking theater major to do help desk?
