BEWARE!!! I have been waiting over 12 months for my money, despite the fact that they were paid by the client. I will never use All Star Consulting again. Meryl Bernstein and Maryann Parker are the biggest liars I have ever encountered. Don't believe ANYTHING they ever say.

I think you can file a complaint with the Department Labor if you performed work and wasn't paid for it, even if you were a consultant.

It may take several months, but the Department of Labor is the best way to get your money.

You can also sue the person or company that benefitted from your labor (if your weren't paid) in court. Filing a complaint in small claims court is relatively easy, but the max possible award is about $3,000. If you don't want to waive money more than the amount possible in small claims court, you would have to file suit in regular court.

I have had a few agencies tell me that they weren't going to pay me. I think most agenices know that they have nothing to lose from temps filing complaints with the Department of Labor (i.e. all the Department of Labor will do if you win is collect your money, there is no interest or penalities that I know of).

However, when I have sued a client in small claims court, or even indicated that I would sue a client, I have ALWAYS been paid immediately. Most of the time, an agency has messengered my check to me when I demonstrated that I was prepared (and capable of) suing their client for my pay.

I am also a victim of All Star Consulting. They owe me about 3 months worth of consulting fees. Recently their phone line is disconnected and they even moved out of the office in NYC.

I would like to know whether anyone of you out there are still trying to collect from All Star. People like Meryl and Maryann shouldn't be allowed to carry on with their scam elsewhere, so let's form a group offline (in case they are "watching" as well) and go after them together.
